I’m away in America at the moment but that didn’t stop me doing a show this week. I pre-recorded an episode at home and today a friend broadcast it on the stream for me while I chatted with people in IRC. It was very cool, thanks to everyone who got involved. I played more heavy guitar tracks this week to please a few people who’ve been hankering for metal. There’s still plenty of other music in there. Hope you enjoy it.

  • 00:00 – De Fuckups – Gimme Your Leg – CC BY-NC-ND
  • 06:07 – Windpearl – Saturday NightCC BY-SA – From the wonderfully named album “I love you a bit”
  • 10:02 – Cjacks – Get The Groove On – CC BY-SA

Words Of Wisdom: 16:15 – This time Bill Hicks talks about mushrooms and other drugs. I love Bill and I miss him. You should check him out if you haven’t heard his stuff. He was a great man, a prophet and he’s sadly missed.

  • 29:25 – New Nobility – Galactic LoveCC BY
  • 33:45 – Fdama – Why Do I Always Feel Like A Judo Master’s Kicking My Ass – CC BY-NC-ND – from the CC netlabel Probably Worse
  • 36:24 – Diablo Swing Orchestra – Balrog Boogie CC BY-NC-ND
  • 42:29 – Musicocompany – Cross Each Other – CC BY-SA

Live Acoustic Track: 47:36 – “The Weight” by The Band. I decided to play this song this time because it’s lost in the public votes a couple of times and I really love singing it. Since this show was pre-recorded anyway I couldn’t do a vote. It seemed a good time to impose my dictatorship and play what I liked.

That track was taken from a sampler CD of New Orleans artists. You can get the two CDs here, there’s some good stuff on there.

Send me your amusing suggestions for my catchphrase. It can be something I say lot like “this one reminds me of ” or something you think I should say as a catchphrase. All entries will go into a draw. There’s been a few entries so far but I thought I’d leave it open another couple of weeks. Thanks to Aiden Nibali for suggesting a Kagnee CD should be the prize. I’ll even sign it for you if you like, ooh what a prize hehe. Send emails to the usual address – show AT ratholeradio.org

Thanks for listening, I hope you enjoyed the show. Thanks also to everyone who turned up in our IRC channel at irc.freenode.net the channel name is #ratholeradio. I don’t expect much to happen there in the weeks between shows, I probably won’t be around much, but if people want to hang around in there and chat you’re more than welcome. Don’t forget you can access the channel from a web browser by going to webchat.freenode.net and entering #ratholeradio in the channel text box. Take care till next time folks.
