Episode 17 – 10th Jan 10
Posted on January 12, 2010
The first Rathole Radio of the New Year. Welcome to 2010 everyone. A New Year, a new decade but the same eclectic collection of music, waffling and laughs. I played a live song, voted for by the live listeners as always. I hope you enjoy this selection and I’d particularly like to thank everyone who came and joined me on Sunday night.

I am just expecting the intro to the next episode to be like “its dan’s world its dan’s world party time excellent”
@redbrain – Hah cheers mate, I love Wayne’s World. I’ll have to work on a spoof 🙂
nice to hear more Carbon-Silicon… I also liked The Hot Quiche Conspiracy – it made me LOL
@oliver – Yes Carbon-Silicon rock. I also got a laugh out of the Hot Quiche Conspiracy track and they’re a really tight band. Top stuff. I’ll be playing more in future. Thanks for listening.
Great job on PJ! I’m impressed.
@Dan – Thanks. I thought it could have gone a little better listening back, but it came out ok. It’s not an easy song to do without a band because it needs the drums and rhythm section really.
I’m afraid I can’t shed a lot of light on the licence for “It’s getting bongo rock in herre”. I got the mp3 from what is I presume Reverend Dan’s website, although the domain was disparatedan.com, back in 2003 but that’s long gone from the Internet now.
As you worked out, it’s a mashup of the Incredible Bongo Band’s “Bongo Rock” with the cover of Nelly’s “Hot in Here” by Tiga.
@adrian – I searched but couldn’t find the track anywhere. It’s a good mix. It can’t be CC because both the tracks used will be copyright but I took a chance and played it anyway 🙂
